Planning a solo trip is not easy. First, you must plan everything and tick off things on the list. Amidst all this, the trip may feel like a task if you also have to plan an itinerary with activities to do.

So, to help you, this think-piece enlists nine things that you must do on your trip to Melbourne.

1. Visit the flinders street station

This station is the heart of Australian railways. Because of its rich history, Flinders street station has become a sightseeing spot for tourists.

While visiting the street station, don’t forget to check the row of clocks at the entrance doorway. It is an important landmark in Melbourne.

2. Enjoy the sunset from Eureka tower

If you are in Melbourne and haven’t stopped by this tower, you are missing out on mesmerizing scenery. It is located 285 meters above sea level. When you climb up, the city view of Melbourne will blow your mind.

If you like to take photos of nature, go there before sunset. Trust me; you will not regret it.

3. Have fun with the penguins at St Kilda Pier

Who doesn’t love these big birds? You can find them at the end of St Kilda Pier. Try to visit it during dusk to watch the penguins getting ready for naptime.

Seeing so many penguins together is indeed a magical experience. Don’t feed them as it is not allowed. While taking pictures, make sure to turn off the flashlight as it scares the penguins.

4. Explore the arts of Melbourne

If you are an admirer of art, then you must visit the Ian Potter Museum. This museum was established in 1972, and they have a collection of art from every era.

5. Do some window shopping in Fitzroy

Fitzroy is one of the most famous spots in Melbourne. This place is filled with boutiques, cafes, restaurants, vintage stores, art galleries, etc. They also have a solely dedicated street to artists called Rose Street.

After the shopping is done, you can stop by Rustica Sourdough for brunch. Make sure to order their delicious Belles hot chicken and waffles.

6. Experience the Tasmanian Devil closely in Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation park

If you are in Australia, you cannot miss their wildlife.

Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation is the best wildlife park in Melbourne, and they house all the native Australian wildlife, including kolas and pythons.

The most amazing part is that you can observe the Tasmanian devil closely here. It is the world’s largest surviving marsupial.

7. Go to Federation square with a model

Federation Square is well known for being a significant cultural attraction in Melbourne. The place is a hub of art, technology, creativity, etc. It is also the center for many world-level events.

You don’t want to visit these events alone, so instead, look for escort services in Melbourne and enjoy a wild party night.

On the non-event days, you will see many bars, cafes, restaurants, and art galleries all around this place.

8. Check out the outskirts of Melbourne by cycling

Melbourne is popular for having well-maintained cycling routes and flat surfaces. It’s best to leverage this fact and explore the outskirts of this city on bikes.

You can take the route near the Yarra river to see some iconic landmarks. You can also look up the map to find routes that have more scenic views.

9. Spend some quality in the CBD

The CBD, or Central Business district, is an important tourist attraction in Melbourne. Without visiting this place, your Melbourne trip is not complete. This place has cool dining options, wonderful street art, tasty coffee, and, most importantly, a well-defined cultural heritage.

You will also find rooftop bars, museums, and theaters here. If you want to go to a shopping mall or night clubs, CBD should be on the top of your list.

Furthermore, CBD is also a lot more economical than most other places in Melbourne.

Over to you…

Now that you have a list of to-dos handy, pick your preferred activities and plan your trip accordingly. Make sure to make your bookings early and avoid last-minute stress.
